As a student, you will attain speech and debate skills such as research, analytical and critical thinking, body posture, and persuasion that will aid you with job interviews and communication in general. These skills also help develop the confidence to speak to a larger audience. Students also learn to accept constructive criticism and use it to improve their skills.
Cognitive Exchange is such an impactful extracurricular for middle and high school students in the US. CE allows students to naturally improve public speaking skills by teaching students. It teaches students important leadership and influential skills such as creativity, communication, critical thinking, through CE activities. It allows students to learn real-life business skills in technology, literacy, marketing, operations, and eventually take on leadership roles. The leadership skills that are taught are currently not available or easily accessible in places like India, giving teachers the ability to make a difference in the lives of students every day. Teachers also have an opportunity to start a CE club at their own high school or middle school.
